For a whole year the artist is given a salary, a studio and accommodation just outside the Close. They can observe the daily life of the Cathedral and do their own work under its influence. Throughout the year they lecture to art students at the University's Pittville campus in Cheltenham and to the public in Gloucestershire, they hold workshops with schools and community groups across the county and they exhibit their work at the Cathedral and the City Museum. Previous artists in residence have been Susan Adams (1996-1997) Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva is the current artist in residence. |
