Onya McCausland is Artist in Residence at Gloucester Cathedral 2007-2008.
Onya studied Painting at Falmouth School of Art and the Slade graduating in 1999. Since then she has exhibited with a number of galleries and Art Centres including Houldsworth, Jibby Bean, Gallery Fine, Phoenix Centre Brighton, Brentford Arts Centre and East Street Arts Centre, Leeds. She has work in public and private collections including UCL, Aurthur Anderson and DLA. Onya has been course tutor at Hastings college of Art since 2003, in addition to guest lecturing at Falmouth, Leeds Metropolitan University and Chelsea School of Art. She has led a range of London-wide educational projects involving the Roundhouse, Brentford Art Centre and S.O.A.S and has completed a number of public art commissions, most recently for the Major of London's 'One Hundred Public Spaces' in Erith Kent. In 1995 she was awarded the Boise Travel Scholarship and spent a year living and working in the Egyptian desert. This experience continues to inform her work.
