College Street Approach

College Street

It is College Street which now provides the main approach to the Cathedral. This is chiefly because of the widening of the road in 1890. One consequence was the loss through demolition of No 5, but as only the east side of the street was affected the ruined condition of King Edward's Gate must be attributed to earlier causes.
