Infirmary Arches

Infirmary Remains

In medieval times the area beyond Wardle House was the monks' cemetery and the east end of the cathedral marked the boundary of the close. Today a path leads round to the north side of the cathedral where impressive remains of the Infirmary can be seen.

The 15th century Little Cloister can be seen beyond the Infirmary. This secluded area served in monastic times as the herb garden, being conveniently near the Infirmary.
