The Almonry

Monastic Almonry

Next to St. Mary's Gate's a picturesque half-timbered house dating from the 15th century. It is built on the stone base of the monastic Almonry, and evidence exists inside of a window used for the distribution of food and money to the poor. Today the Almoner's Lodging has a different use: that of preserving County Records.
