The Deanery

The Deanery

Undoubtedly the most impressive house in Millers Green is the Deanery. It was built about 1730 and has a typically restrained façade. The front door and the gatepiers are the only concessions to decoration, being all the more effective through their contrast. Until this century the Dean's residence was not at the north west corner of the cathedral. Now called Church House, it had been in monastic times successively the Abbot's and Prior's lodging.
