The Three Choirs Festival is the oldest music festival in the world. Every August since 1724 it has travelled between the cathedrals of Worcester, Hereford and Gloucester. Centred around the Cathedral, the Kings School and St Mary de Lode church it transforms the area with an influx of classical music devotees who socialise in marquees and startle office workers as they picnic in style on the lawns of the Close. |
