Exterior of Gloucester City Museum and Art GalleryVisit the City Museum and Art Gallery in Brunswick Road to sample delights from Gloucester's past.

The archaeology collections contain an impressive range of Roman sculpture, including votive tablets showing Roman gods, tombstones and an antefix decorated with a human face that may have come from the front of one of Gloucester's earliest theatres.

Ceramic collections show the development of ceramics from Delft ware and Staffordshire figurines to fine examples such as the Arts and Crafts Bowl by Alfred and Louise Powell. Alfred was still decorating pots when he was 90 years old!

There is also a fine range of dinosaur fossils, natural history displays, Queen Anne furniture, topographical paintings and much more in this grade II* Victorian building.

There are various activities and events as well as a broad-ranging exhibition programme from local artists to dinosaurs. It is a registered museum and is a quality assured visitor attraction.
