In the heart of rural Gloucestershire at the end of World War II local people were amazed to see an aeroplane flying without a propellor. The age of the jet plane had arrived through the proficiency of workers at the Gloster Aircraft Company. Skills drawn from local crafts in wood and metal built advanced designs known as Grebe and Gladiator, Meteor and Javelin. |
