Poet, Composer and Soldier He was born at No. 2 Eastgate Street and went to the King's School in Gloucester before getting a scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London. The music he wrote for his own, and other people's poems is now admired by people all over the world. Sadly when he was alive, Ivor's work never had the recognition that it has now. He suffered from mental illness and spent the last 15 years of his life in hospital in Gloucester and London. |
